PlusZero To Be Key Delivery Partner For Hebridean Hydrogen Project
PlusZero’s ambitions to drive the expansion of Scottish green hydrogen have taken a big step forward with the announcement that PlusZero will be a key delivery partner for Comhairle nan Eilean Siar’s new Net Zero Energy Hub at Arnish Point, Stornoway.
It was announced last week that the Net Zero Energy Hub at Arnish Point has been awarded prestigious ‘Pathfinder’ status under the Scottish Government and Scottish Futures Trust Green Growth Accelerator (GGA) programme.
PlusZero is developing plans to produce Hebridean Hydrogen from renewable energy that would otherwise be curtailed from installed onshore wind power on the Western Isles - and exporting the green hydrogen through Stornoway Port Authority’s new Deep Water Terminal for use in the outdoor events and cultural sector.
PlusZero’s Founder and Managing Director, David Amos, said:
“I am delighted to be working closely with Comhairle nan Eilean Siar as it delivers the pioneering Net Zero Energy Hub. The Scottish Hebrides are at the forefront of green energy innovation and this Green Growth Accelerator Award will allow us to put innovative plans into action.
“There is vast potential to not only drive forward the Scottish Government’s ambition to expand Scotland’s green hydrogen potential, but to propel the Scottish Hebrides onto the global stage as a leading green hydrogen production centre.”
