PlusZero Powers the Opening of the Charles Hammond Dock
24 April 2025
PlusZero was delighted to support the official opening of the new Charles Hammond Berth, Forth Ports new deep water riverside berth at the Port of Leith – designed to host the world’s largest offshore wind construction vessels.
PlusZero ensured that the event was also powered with clean, green hydrogen produced at the port which we felt was particularly appropriate for this fantastic new berth at the Port of Leith given its role in supporting the construction of Scotland’s clean renewable offshore wind industry.
The berth was named the Charles Hammond Berth in honour of the company’s former Chief Executive, Charles Hammond OBE, who attended the naming ceremony, along with Kirsty McNeill MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Scotland; Forth Ports’ Chair, Lord Smith of Kelvin, and its Board of Directors; key members of Forth Ports staff and apprentices; alongside other key stakeholders.
PlusZero supplied a 100kVA Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engine (HICE) generators to power the event marquee and PA system. If you’d like to similarly clean power an event you are planning, then please get in touch - info@pluszero.co.uk
