Emerging green hydrogen leader announces new appointments to expert Board
PlusZero Limited’s Non-Executive Directors “among most experienced and creative people in the green hydrogen sector”
Clean energy start-up PlusZero has announced the appointment of three Non-Executive Directors as the company charges towards its ambition to become a green hydrogen sector leader with its unique production, distribution and operation offer.
Launched in April 2021 by founder David Amos, PlusZero is about to rapidly scale its Western Isles green hydrogen production base to at least 50MW in the coming years. It will use the green hydrogen to meet expanding demand for clean portable energy across a diverse range of industries.
The appointments bring deep expertise across hydrogen technology, risk management and finance to PlusZero’s Board of Directors. Joining the team are:
Dr Kerry-Ann Adamson - An international consultant with over 20 years’ experience in the hydrogen and fuel cell industry, Dr Adamson is a Global Strategic Advisor at Worley and will provide strategic input to PlusZero on hydrogen technology, regulation and policy
Bill Ireland - As Chief Executive Officer of Logan Energy, Mr Ireland is one of the UK’s most experienced developers of integrated engineering solutions incorporating hydrogen production, compression, refuelling and fuel cell technologies
John Abbott - Founder and Managing Director of Abbott Risk Consulting, a leading international consultancy specialising in safety engineering and risk management within the nuclear, defence, oil, gas and mining and transportation sectors. Mr Abbott will provide invaluable input on PlusZero’s risk management and safety assurance procedures
The Non-Executive Directors will provide strategic advice and direction as PlusZero scales up the two arms of the business - PlusZero Energy, which specialises in the production and distribution of green hydrogen, and PlusZero Power, which provides portable green hydrogen-powered generators for use across a diverse range of industries looking to move away from diesel.
David Amos, Managing Director at PlusZero said:
“PlusZero is a fast-moving emerging player in the hydrogen economy. It is fantastic news for the company that Kerry-Anne, Bill and John are joining our Board of Directors. These appointments bring in the very best expertise across hydrogen technology, risk management and finance.
“We believe that collaboration between committed and expert partners is the best way to achieve the rapid transition to the clean energy future that is essential for our planet. Our Non-Executive Directors are among the most experienced and creative people in the green hydrogen sector, and their strategic direction will propel PlusZero towards its ambition to become a world-class leader in the green hydrogen sector.”
Dr Kerry-Ann Adamson said:
“The next few years are not going to be easy and it will take the combined efforts of all us to support PlusZero in its growth. But we are facing a tipping point in the hydrogen industry and to be able to work with a local company that has community as well as hydrogen at its core is a true honour.”
Bill Ireland said:
“For more than two decades Logan Energy has been at the forefront of driving new and innovative hydrogen technologies that benefit business, people and society. As we look to transition to net-zero by the middle of the century, the key role of green hydrogen in achieving accessibility to clean energy will only increase.
“My appointment, alongside my experienced new colleagues, highlights PlusZero’s commitment to unlocking the full potential of renewable energy using hydrogen. I look forward to applying my extensive industry experience and working collaboratively to accelerate the delivery of transformative hydrogen solutions.”
John Abbott said:
“It’s an absolute pleasure to be asked to join PlusZero as a Non-Executive Director. Throughout my life I’ve had a great interest in protecting the environment - it’s a fantastic opportunity to support PlusZero and a thrilling time for the industry.”
